The frequency plan indicates the allocations in Iceland for radio communications in the frequency range 9 kHz to 400 GHz

General License exempt lists several frequency bands that can be used without applying for an individual license

Temporary licenses for the operation of radio equipment can be obtained in accordance with the indicated rules.

Broadcast sites are indicated by maps showing assigned frequencies for sound and television broadcasting.
          
Mobile telephone transmitter sites are shown on maps.

Import of communications equipment is subject to rules that take account of the European Union R&TTE Directive

Maritime communication
Regulation no. 53/2000 is applicable to Icelandic maritime telecommunications and marine equipment.

Aeronautical communications
The Post and Telecom Administration issues certificates showing the qualifications of the person in question
 

Radioamateurs is subject to a regulation which details the rights and obligations of radio amateurs.

Complaints can be directed to the Post and Telecom Administration
